The Karnataka PGCET (MBA) is a 100-question, 100-mark MCQ exam taken in 120 minutes.

Every correct answer earns +1 mark and there is NO negative marking — an unattempted or wrong answer costs nothing, so you should attempt every question. Selecting more than one option scores 0 for that question.

The paper has 5 equal sections of 20 questions each:

  • Quantitative Analysis
  • Analytical Ability and Logical Reasoning
  • Proficiency in English Language
  • Computer Awareness
  • General Knowledge

Ranks are based on raw marks out of 100, in descending order — there is no percentile or normalization for the MBA paper. Ties are broken by higher qualifying-degree aggregate, then age (older first), then a draw of lots.

The exam is held once a year by the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA).

What no negative marking means for strategy

With +1 per correct and zero penalty, the optimal strategy is 100% attempt rate. Speed and elimination skills matter more than caution — which is exactly what timed practice builds.
